American Toy Safety Standard ASTM F963-16 Release

October 19, 2016, the American Association of Materials and testing ASTM released the 2016 version of the consumer Safety code-Toy safety ASTM F963, and will become mandatory in the 2017 year. Under the CPSIA provisions of the Consumer Goods Safety Improvement Act, the Change section will become mandatory after the ASTM F963-16 release 180 days unless the U.S. consumer Security Council CPSC has a new requirement. ASTM F963-11 compared with the old standard ASTM F963-16 mainly has the following revisions: 1. Revision of the ejection toy kinetic energy requirements, the new requirements are consistent with international standards; 2. New testing requirements for toys containing rechargeable batteries and batteries; 3. Add Warning Labels for button batteries for voltage ≥ 1.5V; 4. New testing requirements for expansive toys and the provision of test methods and equipment; 5. Add Toy Box test requirements; 6. Revise requirements for heavy metals and microbiological indicators; 7. Other revisions.
